Our Services

Every visit we make is tailored to you and your department's needs. Each person experiences and processes trauma differently, and repeated exposure to trauma without any outlet can break even the strongest of us. Families of first responders can be integral to the process and have their own unique set of needs, often feeling helpless, scared, and frustrated. It is our mission to educate and support those who spend their days serving others. Sometimes we need to remind our responders, you are loved, and your life matters. Serving the Midwest within six driving hours of Cleveland, OH.

Death by a Thousand Cuts

Tom Freborg, retired firefighter and AEMT, presents talks nationwide to firehouses on the importance of mental health, family, divorce, addiction, and suicide. One-hour Presentation.

One-on-One Confidential Coaching

Tom Freborg incorporates a one-on-one coaching session, for each participant in your department who chooses to partake, to listen and troubleshoot areas of concern, and facilitate future work as needed. Every conversation is confidential, with a peer who has walked the walk.

Dispatchers

Much overlooked is the trauma the dispatchers experience when receiving the initial call. This workshop is tailored to addressing the trauma and triggers dispatchers encounter daily.

Half-day Peer Support Workshop

We will assist you in the process of setting up your 'in house' peer support team and will begin training in trauma recovery, suicide awareness and intervention. Continuing education is recommended. We will point you to the training resources that are available. Longer sessions may include wellness instructors and others. Call us to discuss your needs.

All Day Event with Lunch Catered

A longer day including a presentation, peer mentoring and support, decompression talks, post-crisis recovery, healing, group conversations and suicide prevention. Lunch will be provided. All sessions are tailored to your departments specific needs.

Health and Wellness

Tom Freborg brings in his staff of clinicians, yoga instructors, fitness gurus and nutritionists to decompress the team and start moving. Break out sessions may include peer to peer conversations, suicide prevention, and more as needed. But this day is mostly about getting moving, getting healthy, and getting rid of the stress.

What Our Clients Say

Brandon H., Aurora Fire Department

"Tom's testimony was truly moving. It was great to hear him talk about the side of emergency medicine that most like to keep quiet. Mental health is just as, if not more important than, physical health and Tom does a great job of speaking to the importance of taking care of your mind."
